This simple head shot of a Vixen has been in several magazines and won £50 in an environmental photographic competition. It is a prime example of ASK !!! Sitting in the car on a late summer evening, we noticed a couple with a strange red dog on a lead. It was a fox. I had just a Pentax SP1000 with SMC 200 mm f4 fitted and FP4 rated at 200 ISO. I jumped from the car and approached the people, asking if I could take a shot or two. I promised to send them some prints. The light was low and I had no monopod then, so they sat the fox down, but would not remove it`s lead - hence careful composition. I rested the camera on a wall top and required 1/60 th at f5.6 for the shot. I took about half a dozen. Never go to all this trouble and only take one !
